Just 10 minutes
Sometimes I would give my entire paycheck for 10 minutes. 600 seconds to talk to someone freely and unconditionally. Able to just rattle on about this or that, good or bad, all or nothing. Raw, uncensored emotion. Just 10 minutes. The last two hours of a good day are dangerous. Not only is it your "come down" time, but it is usually late in the night. In that first hour, you reflect. You smile. You chuckle as you think back on the day. Things that were said, things people did, the part you played, the good you felt. In its way, it is the instant replay of good feelings. Maybe you watch some TV or surf the web. You really are not doing much other than letting yourself wind down and reflect. You realize you are not ready to call it a night even though it is way past bedtime. It has been a good day and you are not ready to let it go.
