POTD and Vegas letter - March 6

Image
Good evening. Not too much to report from today other than I honored my body and rested. Could have gone non stop today too, yet I spoke up and said that I needed to rest. Shauna said she was very proud of me for listening to my needs and acting on them AND not beating myself up or feeling guilty for it. I am doing well and tomorrow our adventures continue. I believe a women's basketball game down at UNLV is on the agenda. We got free tickets so hey, that is cool. Made it to part of church today and the lesson talked about how wherever we are, that is where we are and it is ok. If we are looking to progress in our lives (no matter what that is in) we do not have to get to some point before we begin...wherever we are, we can start from there. It reminded me of all of you saying at one time or another that you will meet me where I am and we will work forward from there. I do not have to be at a certain level, where i am is ok and I am not judged for it. I keep laughing as I really mi...

Hey everyone. It’s been a little slower of a day as I have not felt really well today. There was still a lot of activity going on, I just was selective as to what I joined in on so I could rest. I think it is just the “too excited and can’t miss anything” position I have been in. Shauna said that it is probably from the excitement of Bass Pro from yesterday….she is probably correct! So today, it is rest up good and take on the world again tomorrow….well, definitely by Monday. I got up and came downstairs today and those kids who were up ran up to me and hugged me real tight. Christian was leading them with his “CHRISTY BLEW I LOVE YOU!!” As the others go up and about I was their first target too. How awesome life would be to get those kind of hugs each morning. I am getting my fill of hugs and I am not even complaining. The adventure for today was piano recital at UNLV. The kids are all in piano and a couple times a year they have this “recital” where they have to memorize two of the p...

Hey family!!! Wow, what a full day….and I am doing well with it!! Was back up for the morning walk today with Shauna, Katelyn (8), and Brenton (10), which was 35 minutes and a much faster pace. The kids walked with us instead of on their own and they do not have much concept of speed reduction. I did well, and I figured it was good for me to push myself a little. I know I could have slowed down, yet why not try to go a little harder and see how I do? I did pretty darn well. As long as I use my inhaler before we go, I am not doing too bad. Shauna had some errands this morning and I helped her out by watching the 2 little ones. I am now acclimated to Paw Patrol and Blaze the firetruck. I possibly know more about Paw Patrol than I will ever need to recall. I am acclimating well to the world of children. Brenley (2) was not happy that mama left without her and was crying and really upset. She also had a bite of half chewed French toast in her mouth. I started to tell her to chew it up so s...

Good evening everyone!! I still get freaked out because I just looked at the clock on my computer and it says 11 pm. This time change is going to be the thing that makes me insane. See, I can finally blame my mental issues on something! I am having a wonderful time……and allowing myself to. It is crazy chaotic around here..seriously. The thing is, it doesn’t bother me, I just kind of sit back and watch it. It’s not like people fighting and tension in the air kind of chaos. It is just 7 children and 2 adults all going different directions. I would say it is graceful like a ballet, yet it is more like Ziegfeld follies, and I love being a part of it. It is weird, although it has been almost 8 months since I was here, it is like I never left. I just kind of came in and picked up where I left off. I feel safe here and that is a big positive. I get all kinds of hugs all day long. It is cute, they fight over who gets to sit next to me at the table (even the adult kids). They like that I take a...

Vegas letter - March 2

Hey family. It is 9:40 here and 11:40 there. Can you guess who is exhausted? Do not anticipate any issues sleeping tonight. Most of you heard from me from the airport. There was some anxiety while I waited to check in my bag and it was good practice for me. No breaking down in the airport....Yet I did get to ear some chic fil a :) Slept half of the flight and blessings for music in my phone for the other half.  Ok, so there was some super joy upon my arrival. All kinds of hugs and hugs and did I mention hugs? Little Christian (3) always calls me by my full name. He was *Christy Blew* all over the place...it is so cute. He did not want to go to bed until we got him to understand I would be here in the morning. :) He started bringing me every ball in the house and I could not put them down until he was done. By the time he finished it was quite the balancing act!! Attached is the photo op! Of course there were at least 6 more balls added after this picture. All is good, I am headed ...

I go bye bye for the week too! Koi frozen under ice...well, they weren't frozen, but I think Chris and I were just discussing this. Don't think this will get through security, better leave it in the car. There's our plane! I may have put weight back on, but I still do not have to ask for a seat extender anymore!!! Should have worked harder on getting that haircut appointment Well, hello, Las Vegas Like I never left!!! Love my buddy Shauna!

Here ya go folks, my picture of the day. Well, honestly, the ONLY picture I have taken today. Yes, 4 years from now I will look back and know that leap year was celebrated with chicken and mushroom with white rice. I should be cleaning out the car, packing my stuff, packing Tess' stuff, taking out the garbage, doing the dishes. You know, that "I'm going on vacation in less than 36 hours and I should get ready at some point." Oh, might need to wash some clothes too....that would be helpful. So, yes, happy leap year. And, by the way, although not as good as the Chinese place 35 gets us, this wasn't too bad.

Lots happened today... I taught baby Kate how to hold her pacifier sideways We learned about making choices in sharing time Destruction therapy part one Success! Now just have to clean up the tile Then there was this disaster to deal with And I am so happy to have come in tonight and the house DID NOT smell like a kennel And a fun evening with 35, including our trip for Chinese food And it seemed I picked the perfect route home from 35's place
